On November 10, AVIC International (Beijing)-Shantui (Tanzania) Co., Ltd. held the grand opening ceremony in Dar es Salaam industrial zone. The former President of Tanzania Ali Hassan Mwinyi, the Director of Administration Bureau of Export Processing Zone Joseph Simbakalia, the General Secretary of Tanzanian Ministry of Industry and Trade Moussa, the China’s Economic and Commercial Representative to Tanzania Lin Zhiyong, the Deputy General Manager of Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. Cheng Zhaohong, and nearly 200 representatives from Tanzanian political and commercial fields and from China-invested enterprises jointly attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Mr. Lin Zhiyong expressed congratulations to newly elected Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli and praised the Tanzanian peaceful and stable General Election. He said that the choice of Tanzania by China’s production capacity transfer strategy as the pivot country and the comparative investment advantages of Tanzania made Tanzania become an investment hot land and a number of Chinese investors would flock into Tanzania. Along with the export of products, it's the true production capacity transfer to gradually realize the local assembly and local manufacture and help Tanzania realize industrialization. Mr. Lin Zhiyong expected that AVIC International (Beijing)-Shantui (Tanzania) Co., Ltd. would provide Tanzania with high quality products, preferential prices, and excellent services to improve the “Made-in-China” image.



The former President of Tanzania Ali Hassan Mwinyi looked back with deep feelings in his speech the friendship between the first Tanzanian President Julius Kambarage Nyerere and China’s first generation leaders, including Chairman Mao Zedong, highly praised the China’s aid in Tanzania-Zambia Railway and the subsequent technical supports, appreciated the long-term aids from Chinese government, and expressed that, with a long standing friendship, two nations have formed a win-win cooperation relationship and Tanzania warmly welcome the Chinese investors.



The AVIC International (Beijing)-Shantui (Tanzania) Co., Ltd. is one joint-venture founded jointly by AVIC International (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. in Tanzania, with the main business scope covering the sales of Shantui machinery products and supply of spare parts and after-services. This is another bold attempt by two companies in Tanzanian market in succession to their joint market development and realization of excellent performances by playing respective advantages in Kenya.
